In my personal experience, women raise their voices because they feel like they aren’t being listened to. Men raise their voices because they feel like they aren’t being obeyed.

No one has to put up with a person, I don’t care what gender, yelling at them. No one has to put up with name calling. Please don’t allow it, it only encourages the bullies. I hang up on the VP of the company who was yelling at me over the phone, saying “we’ll talk when you calm down”. She did and it was never mentioned again (I still think she should apologize). I never yelled at an employee, ever. Don’t accept it, its not normal.
