“40 is good, 50 is great, 60 is fab, and 70 is fucking awesome!” ~ Helen Mirren đŸ’ȘđŸ»

missed some greats!

I can’t believe Julie Andrews is not on this list guys.

“It’s fucking outrageous. It’s ridiculous. And ’twas ever thus. We all watched James Bond as he got more and more geriatric, and his girlfriends got younger and younger. It’s so annoying.” – Helen Mirren on the bullshit that is (sexist) ageism (source)

Whenever you need a positive role model to help you remember that aging is NATURAL, aging is BEAUTIFUL, there is NOTHING WRONG with aging, and if you’re LUCKY will you live long enough to experience it – look long and hard at every single one of these these Queens.

LOOK. AT. THEM.

Go ladies!

Might I add

Rekha

Hema Malini

Shabana Azmi

Asha Parekh

Rita Moreno

Many women have talked about how amazing life is after your 40s. Some have their happiest years in their 70s. We need to stop believing society when it tells us our lives are over when we reach 35.

I turned 50 this year and it’s been my best year ever.

At 69, I agree with Helen Mirren

You can save all your posts with these instructions
I’ll do it too just to be safe, I honestly don’t remember what I’ve posted here over the years.

You can also import a copy of your blog into wordpress. YMMV if you have a huge amount of posts.

Oh thanks!! This is also a good one!! In case the first doesn’t work or you don’t have the memory for a whole zip of your blog~

As a fandom grandma and the author of ‘archive your fandom stuff’, I’m exhausted and cross. Torn between “fine, Tumblr, I never liked you” and “but
but
Tumblr friends!!!” Tumblr was never meant to work, but we made it work. Even though we did, it was never truly ours. So here we are.

Thank you to the people who have gone out there to make fandom spaces – even when others weren’t very excited or appreciative. AO3. Dreamwidth. Pillowfort. Independent archives and discussion boards.

Thank you to the creators who filled Tumblr with the content that kept us here, brought us together. And to all the tricksters filling up my feed with dunes, noods, classical art, and every possible variety of nipple presentation.

I want to say thank you to the people who are creating positive spaces for discussion of free sexual expression. But do you know how few of these there are? This keeps getting shut down and blocked everywhere. That’s part of why this censorship on Tumblr is a big deal.

For young people, I really recommend the sex and gender education site Scarleteen: cutting-edge information and forums. Any other recommendations are welcome.

So why is one considered ‘inappropriate’ and the other accepted? Stop sexualising my body.

I wonder this too. Why is it a man’s breast and nipple are okay to show but a woman’s breast and nipple isn’t.

fave wow

best thing to reblog yet

it’s funny because every time I reblog this I lose at least one follower who seems offended by a nipple

i will reblog this always

The Netherlands democratically puts a list of the 2000 best songs together every year around New Year’s and the biggest mystery every time is whether Bohemian Rhapsody wins again

i’m serious, if it doesn’t win, it’s second place

image

every winner before 2005 is Bohemian Rhapsody as well

why arent we talking about the constant presence of hotel california
