I’M DYING. THEY’RE AT A CHRISTMAS MARKET. ON A FERRIS WHEEL. IT’S 20 DEGREES. THEY’RE HUDDLING TOGETHER. GIGGLING AND BEING CUTE. AFTER THAT TRASH FIRE SHOOTOUT LAST NIGHT. EVERYTHING IS GOOD IN THE WORLD.
I love this so much. I especially love that you can see how Crosby starts out in standard media mode, and with the Kessel comment, switches to actual humour.
My favorite thing about this is that @stevedangle got to ask one question, and he chose to ask this and make Sid laugh
non-hockey followers, i just really need for you to understand what you’re seeing here. this is matt martin, who last year had more fights as a new york islander than the entire leafs hockey team combined.
the leafs brought him on to protect their rookies. one of their rookies is mitch marner. HE IS THE ONE WHO IS THE BIG SPOON.
[Matt Martin’s] role with the Maple Leafs this season is to be the brawn — create space, keep the opposition honest — playing alongside the likes of William Nylander or Mitch Marner.
His role is to be like their big brother, always on the lookout for their welfare.
“Theybrought me here for a reason,” Martin said of Leafs management. “I’ve played the game a certain way for seven years. I’m going to continue to play the game the way I did in New York: Be a physical presence, a rough style game. At the same time, there’s an opportunity to produce more offence.”
His knuckles might come in handy to help ensure that veterans on other teams don’t take advantage of Toronto’s younger, smaller players like William Nylander and Mitch Marner.
me too buddy, me too (also what the hell does he even need to get up for anyway?? he gonna be late to what??)
Good question! Ryer needed to get up because he was asleep in our behind the scenes holding area, and needed to shift on to exhibit. That way he could spend some time helping us connect the public with the natural world, but also giving us some time to clean up after him behind the scenes and provide him with all new toys and enrichment.
Just introduced a kid to her adoptive parents. They brought her a dozen roses. We met at a restaurant. I arrived early to get a private booth and told the waitstaff what was up. So all the servers were having a cry in the corner. I’m at a coffee shop a few miles away, giving them space and having my own cry.
Adoptive mom clarified to me later: roses were pink because pink means forever.
What’s more important than the roses, though, is they also brought her a luggage set so she wouldn’t be moving her things in garbage bags. The luggage matches theirs, cause it’s family luggage for family trips.
