ok so this is something everyone on tumblr should know
imagine dragons was hired to write demo tracks for spiderman turn off the dark (aka the spiderman musical on broadway) in order to get people to invest in it and have enough money to hire someone more famous to write the musical
then the people who hired them thought, “hey, these are actually good songs we should make a cd of them and sell it”
so imagine dragons changed the words a little so they weren’t about spiderman and became famous
radioactive was originally about THE RADIOACTIVE SPIDER THAT BIT SPIDERMAN
you know I read this and thought “bullshit there’s no way that’s true” but apparently it is
Friday, Cassini will dive into Saturn’s atmosphere and put an end to its nearly 20 year mission. Over those years we learned an incredible amount of information about Saturn, its rings, and its many moons. During the grand finale, Cassini will continue to send back information about Saturns atmosphere before burning up like a shooting star.
Created by Finnish artist JP Ahonen, the Belzebubs comic strip features an adorable metal-loving family and all of their dark adventures together. From having a little baby to having lunch with grandma – the strip features normal everyday things a family would do, but in a strangely adorable black metal way.
When I posted the first Elsewhere University comic, I had no idea what it was going to turn into over the following months. The community that’s grown out of it – the stories and art and obscure bits of folklore and science, the fortunetelling asks and vague anon prophecies, all of it building on itself and branching into places that still manage to take me by surprise – has created a weirder and more wonderful world than anything I could have imagined. This comic is meant as a celebration of everything that’s grown out of the stories set in Elsewhere, and an expression of gratitude. I wasn’t even close to being able to include everything; the Library alone would need a dozen pages. For those whose works I did include, I dearly hope I did them justice. Words can’t express what this world and community have grown to mean to me, but I hope this comes close. Thank you so much, all of you. Keep making amazing things.
All works referenced below the cut, if you want to learn more about them!

Traditional style (Sorry the picture quality is really bad) but here is my (super short) update!!
(The text says : Movie? I won’t be late!)
my contribution!
I rarely reblog long posts like this, but this particular collaborative comic thing has been around for /years/, like at least three or four, and it has an update every time I see it. It is a truly pure relic from a simpler time.
*screeching about how much more has been added since last year*
Teaming up with the ridiculously talented artistJohanna The Mad, Fence follows Nicholas Cox as he joins the world of fencing at an elite boys school and becomes embroiled in the drama of competitive sports, team romance and rivalries, and good old self-discovery.
On finding inspiration for Fence, C.S. Pacat says, “I got really into sports comics in Japan, where I lived for about five years. I love the intense rivalries, the striving, the way you can take characters to their breaking point. Haikyuu!! and Hikaru no Go are easily some of my favourite comics of all time. Fence is like my love letter to the genre.
At the same time, I’m interested in female gaze and queer gaze art. I wanted to make something that had all the drama and intensity of a sports comic, while also being joyously and unabashedly queer. I was really inspired by Ngozi Ukazu’s fantastic hockey web comic Check, Please!, and the recent Japanese animation Yuri!!! on Ice. I started to wonder, what happens when those energies come out in a combat sport—when you add in the danger and stakes of fencing?”
“Fence means the world to me,” says Johanna The Mad. “It has always been one of my biggest dreams to draw comics, but I never thought I’d be able to work on one that I’d end up fangirling about!”
“Johanna’s artwork captures everything that is hot, dangerous, and exciting about fencing,” adds Pacat.
Fence #1 hits comic shops in November, and it’ll have covers from Johanna The Mad and Kevin Wada (and maybe someone else we’ll seeee~) and colors from Rebecca Nalty.
