Resistance Fic

So I won several different FTH auctions, and now there are a number of beautifully talented writers, from many different fandoms, who have agreed to write fic in protest of the evil that Trump and his cronies want to bring to the world.

I’ve been thinking of this in my own head as Resistance Fic. Tonight it occurred to me that this could be an actual Thing.

How about it?  Every time you post a story in support of freedom, of peace, of diversity, of kindness… Every time you put something out there that would piss off a white supremacist, that would horrify a Nazi… Every time you write something in support of people who might be afraid right now…

How about tagging it with “Resistance Fic?”

Fiction is a powerful thing. It teaches us lessons, open up new horizons, gives us strength when we’re scared or sad. Lets us know we’re not alone.

Let’s make it part of the Resistance.

hey guys if you’re a hockey fan that’s a girl who knows nothing about hockey you’re still valid and don’t need to change yourself even if middle aged white men on twitter hate you for it. Nothing wrong with how you decide to be a fan and you don’t have to fight any stereotype. as long as you’re not hurting anybody you’re valid. all you need to be a hockey fan is being one. the rest is just opinion.

This goes for being a fan of ANYTHING. There is no one ‘right’ way to be a hockey fan or a TV show fan or a comedy fan or a Beyonce fan or a comics fan or a knitting fan. As long as you’re having fun and not hurting anyone, you can choose how to be a fan. And fuck anyone who says otherwise (haters gonna hate).
