facts-about-bisexuality:

Fact: Bisexual women and lesbians used to give each other violets to symbolize their love in the early 20th century, referencing a poem by Sappho. Gay and bisexual men used to wear carnations, a trend started by Oscar Wilde. Gay and bisexual communities have always been intertwined, sharing in each other’s love and struggles and creating history together.

Carnations are red
Violets are blue
But both used to mean
I’m so gay for you

reblogging for the most romantic poem i’ve ever read.

Unique Pressed Glass Jewellery Preserves Pieces Of Nature

Dublin-based Russian jeweller designer Stanislava Korobkova veers off the path of creating mainstream jewellery and opts for an organic and natural jewellery pieces. Encasing pressed flowers, leaves, butterfly wings and bits and pieces of nature within a glass pendant, the antique style necklaces highlight the majestic power or mother nature.

Inspired by the delicate floral selection that can be discovered in an Irish garden, the designer dries and then presses them between wedges of glass, with a plain metal frame sealing it. She writes about her handicraft: “I think nature already created amazing and beautiful things. All I should do is make proper frame for them and save this beauty for years.” Her collection can be found in her Etsy shop.

Behold! The grand chart for flower language compiled by @hasty-touch & @halonic. After being introduced to it, a number of folks have taken to using bouquets, delivered within Ishgard (and perhaps without) to convey messages.
Can confirm that House Pepin delivers discretely and provides excellent service.

:3 This is just a thing I compiled from loads of PDFs and stuff because I was going batty from flipping between 20 different browser tabs.

Since it’s publicly viewable now I may work on neatening it some over the next few weeks!

Once upon a time @hasty-touch and I somehow ended up screeching “FLORIOGRAPHY???” at one another, and then weeks later he and @halonic made this gem happen, and suddenly the sea of books and browser tabs parted, and I was at peace.

I never close this spreadsheet.  It is my home.  We are one.

(( Signal boosting because these are the most thorough nerds I’ve ever seen and this list is wonderful.I’ve referenced it countless times already! ))
